What is authentic? And what does that have to do with human BEING vs human DOING?

Brene’ Brown shares the following of what authentic is in her book The Gifts of Imperfection:

“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”

HUMAN DOING The letting go part is the human DOING that we’ve dedicated some, perhaps all, aspects of our lives trying, yes TRYING, to fit in.

HUMAN BEING The embracing part is the human BEING of our self that we’ve so often exchanged, compromised, denied by pushing away, or perhaps at an early age that was not supported or cultivated to the point that your BEING was given up.

BEING YOU What’s at stake here? Guru Singh shares “When you’re not being you, you feel like you’re not enough.”

ASK YOURSELF Are you living your life in the daily practice of DOING or BEING?

Are your answers to what you want from your life responses to the demands or suggestions of “shoulds”, “because I said so”, or “you can’t because you’re….”?

NOW WHAT So? What were your answers?

Time to get intimate and reconnect with you so that the questions: - What do I want in my life? - Who do I want to be? - What is my purpose?

Are answered from a state of BEING versus DOING.
